Social games company Zynga plans on launching new mobile games later this year based on its popular franchises Farmville, Zynga Poker andWords With Friends.
On Monday, Zynga announced the expansionFarmville 2: Country Escape, which will feature a Connected Rewards system tying the web game to this mobile version. The game will also include "Social Control," which give options for how players connect to their friends.
The company will also launch a new Zynga Poker title "more personalized gameplay, lightning fast performance and sophisticated design," says Zynga chief operating officer Clive Downie in a blog post published Monday.
A new Words With Friends will launch this year as well, with a sleeker interface and the ability for players to carry over current games and game history.
"We know these games in particular have struck a chord with many of you," says Downie. "You've not only spent time playing and sharing in these games, but you have also shared incredibly valuable feedback, helping us evolve these games over time in order to make them better for players around the world."
All three games are slated to launch by the end of Zynga's fiscal second quarter, which concludes at the end of June.
The refreshed spins on Zynga's biggest hits -- which have helped the company woo more than 1 billion players -- represent a major shift for the social games company, as its shifts its development focus more heavily toward mobile devices.
This is the first key launch for CEO Don Mattrick, who left Microsoft's Xbox division to take over Zynga's top role seven months ago.
The company's transition to mobile hasn't come without some pains. Last summer, the company laid off more than 500 employees, then cut an additional 15% of its workforce in January. However, Zynga's full-year adjusted earnings of $47 million during their last fiscal year topped forecasts.
